Executive Desk in Espresso

A young executive says to me “I have this desk my mom got me and I want to use it in my home office because it is priceless to me.” I immediately knew it was special and wanted to take on this challenge! The room it lives in is truly one of the most beautiful spaces I have seen. It is light filled and has a stunning color pallet. We played with a number of samples and found Old Masters Espresso Gel Stain would be the perfect color. I typically do not strip furniture down to the bare wood but this was a project that warranted the effort. The top required a heavy sanding and I applied a high quality wood conditioner. The gel stain went on like butter and made the surface look even and sleek. The top was sealed with 4 coats of sealer for a durable coating. The new owner was very happy with the color and the finish and I have to say I enjoyed doing a stain project for a change!
