Wedding Gift Bedroom Set

This bedroom set was a wedding gift from the bride’s parents 40 years ago and it was time for a little updating. We got started with a simple in-home design consult and I was off and running with the team at Shutter & Brushes to create a totally new look for their master bedroom set.  

The  pieces were in excellent condition and had interesting design elements we could accent to make this a standout.  The main body was painted with Annie Sloan Whistler Grey Chalk Paint.  We used black wax to give it a deep rich velvety finish.  The scroll and detail areas were highlighted with Annie Sloan Coco Chalk Paint and another hit of careful placed black wax.  The hardware was bold and large and we did a custom finish that proved to be the icing on the cake.  

We love working with customers to do custom work, but we really enjoy teaching customers how to use chalk paint and gain a sense of accomplishment doing a piece themselves.
